This blog is being written LIVE from the PPAI Expo in Las Vegas!
There’s so much to blog about, like the “Miss America” actresses that hoover outside the exhibit entrances (complete with red, slinky evening gowns and bejeweled crowns) directing conventioneers to a prominent apparel supplier’s booth to redeem a free shirt or the (little, old) lady that guards usage of the computers in the Internet Cafe like an angry hawk. Ahhh, sorry readers, but I’ve opted to take the high road and will instead highlight a selection of products in the famed New Product Pavilion. Perhaps, this is a topic more befitting of a magazine editor?
My Favorite:
In my opinion, the bestest (intentionally spelled that way) product for 2008 is “The Juice Bag Solar Tote” from Reluminati. Check this out: The oversized tote’s entire front is made up of a huge solar-powered panel with an adapter that can instantly charge cell phones, iPods, PDAs, etc! The coolest item I’ve seen in a while! Check them out at Booth #8232.
Just Plain Funny:
Aprons ‘N More is doing Themed Aprons! In the company’s words: “The first style to hit the market is a contemporary version of a traditional Western look.” In plain talk: The likeness of a cowboy’s torso and upper thigh clad in a brown leather vest and pants, complete with pistols (one in each pant pocket) and a leather belt. Remember, though, this is a cloth apron…Like I said, just plain funny! Check them out at Booth #7068.
Cute:
Triple C Designs has the cutest, most girley promotional accessories any fashion maven would want. From purse hangers to retro clutches, lipstick cases, mirrors and the like, the company definitely knows how to take care of the ladies (and everything is customizable). Check them out at Booth #8336.
